Your journey begins in the border town of Oberstdorf, where you’ll tackle a challenging yet rewarding trail up to the Kemptner Hut. At the Mädelejoch mountain pass, you’ll cross the border on foot into Austria. Continuing along sections of the Pilgrimage Trail (Jakobsweg), you’ll make your way to St. Anton, a renowned winter sports resort. From there, a cable car will lift you to heights above 2,800 meters.

The subsequent ascent to the Stuttgarter Hut rewards you with a stunning high-altitude path, unveiling breathtaking panoramic views over the plateau. After this ridge hike, a gondola ride will carry you back down to the valley. As your journey draws to a close, the trail leads you through the border region back into Bavaria—and finally returns you to Oberstdorf. Beautiful Vorarlberg with all its wonders and enchanting views: Last year, two of our employees decided to go on a hiking holiday along the turquoise-blue Lech river. Colleague Astrid hiked the short version of the Lechweg hiking holiday, 6 days, and was able to switch off from everyday life in this beautiful scenery, while Lisa particularly appreciated the exciting hiking moments on her Lechweg hiking tour, 8 days. Türkis-blaue Faszination: Unterwegs am Lechweg

Lech, Warth und Steeg? Kennt man, klar. Aber eher im Winter: Als Schi-Mekka in Vorarlberg, wo sich die tollsten Schwünge auf die Piste und in den Powder zaubern lassen. Und immer wieder aus dem Verkehrsfunk im Radio, wo in schöner Regelmäßigkeit die Wintersperren bekannt gegeben werden. Und da solls hingehen übers verlängerte Wochenende, mitten im August? Schon etwas weit, aber bitteschön – Wetter schaut fein aus, die Tourenbeschreibung liest sich gut, und so weit in den Westen Österreichs kommt man ja eh so selten. Und so ging's für mich im vergangenen Sommer los, zur Wanderreise am Lechweg.

Elisabeth erlebt bayerische Gemütlichkeit und traumhafte Wandertage

Den Wanderrucksack gepackt und mit großer Vorfreude waren meine Mama, meine beiden Schwestern und ich Anfang August unterwegs Richtung Allgäu und Pfaffenwinkel, wo uns bayerische Gemütlichkeit, traumhafte, landschaftliche Eindrücke, herzliche Gastfreundschaft und einfach grandiose Wandertage am Fernwanderweg, dem König-Ludwig-Weg, erwarteten. Wir entschieden uns die letzten drei Etappen der Wanderreise am König-Ludwig-Weg, 8 Tage von Peiting nach Füssen zu erwandern und freuten uns schon alle sehr darauf. Die Sonne lachte uns entgegen und somit war der Auftakt für unsere Mädels-Tage perfekt.

Fernwanderweg E5 Oberstdorf - Meran

Von München oder Salzburg braucht man mit dem Auto etwa vier Stunden nach Meran, mit dem Zug sind es knapp fünf Stunden. Ich dagegen verbringe mit Eurohike eine ganze Woche damit, über die Alpenüberquerung E5 von Oberstdorf nach Meran zu gelangen, weil ich freiwillig zu Fuß gehen will. Bin ich etwa übergeschnappt? 😉

Leider hat dieser Wanderurlaub viel zu schnell geendet. Am liebsten hätten wir das wunderschöne Bayern noch viel länger zu Fuß erkundet. Die landschaftliche Vielfalt dieser Region ist sehr beeindruckend und umwerfend schön. Vor allem das Märchenschloss Neuschwanenstein sollte man unebdingt gesehen haben. Sehr märchenhaft.
