8 Days / 7 Nights
Typical flowering plants on the rocky coast in the southwest of Portugal

Embark on a journey along the renowned Fisherman's Trail, often hailed as one of the "probably finest coastal paths in the world." Here, you'll uncover a vast expanse of the untamed Atlantic coast, stretch your gaze over sprawling nature reserves, and find yourself captivated by the charm of picturesque, time-honored villages. Enter the realm of Rota Vicentina, a true haven for wanderers, celebrated for its stunningly secluded stretches of sandy beaches, vistas of breathtaking, almost untouched coastal landscapes, and a flourishing tapestry of diverse species. Allow yourself to become enchanted by the symphony of unadulterated nature: the rhythmic crescendo of waves crashing against the shore, the intoxicating aroma of fragrant herbs carried on the breeze, the harmonious melody of birdsong weaving through the air, and every now and then, the distant, ethereal chime of bells adorning the necks of grazing goats, cows, and sheep.

The starting point of your hiking journey is in Vila Nova de Milfontes, where you can explore the historic city center. The first hiking stage takes you along the enchanting Atlantic coast to Almograve – a true delight and a splendid kick-off to your getaway in Portugal. The route continues through Zambujeira do Mar, Odeceixe, and Aljezur in the Algarve region, reaching Vila do Bispo and finally your ultimate destination in Sagres. On your journey, you'll traverse picturesque fishing villages, fragrant pine forests, and impressive coastal stretches. The dreamy beaches of Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Machados, and Amália provide the perfect opportunity to refresh yourself in the sparkling Atlantic during or after your daily stage. Enjoy the eight days of your hiking journey along the wild Atlantic coast to the fullest and treat yourself to a relaxing hiking break anytime.
