Breathtaking sunset from Ginsterkopf
View at the castle Berleburg
Beautiful view from the Bruchhauser Stones

From Brilon to Dillenburg.

Up to 840 m high the ‚Rothaarsteig’ (red hair trail) cuts through the exciting and varied mountainous landscape below the tree line of the ‚Rothaarkamm’ (red hair ridge) and connects on over 154km three areas, the Sauerland, the Wittgensteiner Land und the Siegerland, with Dillenburg situated at the foot of the Westernwald forest. The Rothaarsteig is a ’path of the senses’: see, hear, smell, feel and taste. A great number of naturally, culturally or historically interesting points, numerous scenic outposts and a multitude of springs on the way classify this trail as a very special walking experience.
