Panoramic view of the Rote Wand from the hiking trail

An exceptional nature experience awaits during our hiking holiday along the Lechweg-path: You accompany the glistening river Lech from its source near Lake Formarinsee situated in the Austrian town Lech am Arlberg, through one of Europe‘s last wild river sceneries, all the way to the Lechfall waterfall in Füssen in the Bavarian Allgäu region. On your way, you will discover the untamed beauty of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. You will cross a spectacular suspension bridge and take a cable car up to the mountain peaks. Listen to the gurgling waterfalls and take a break at sparkling swimming lakes. Once you reach your destination in Füssen, it is worth taking a trip to King Ludwig's fairytale castles and a boat trip on Lake Forggensee.

Itinerary at a glance

Marvel at the sparkling Formarinsee lake and wonderful alpine river landscapes. Courage is required on Austria's longest footbridge! Climb up to the summit of the Jöchelspitze and dive into the cool waters of the swimming lakes on the Panoramaweg trail.

At your destination in Elbigenalp, admire the craftsmen as they masterfully practise traditional woodcarving.
