The Warmest Travel Feedback of the Season

What our guests say

The impressions gathered while traveling are incredibly valuable — for our guests as wonderful memories, and for us as great inspiration and important feedback that helps us maintain the high level of quality our tours are known for. We are especially delighted when guests share moments of genuine happiness, enjoyed their stay in our carefully selected partner accommodations, and found our insider tips on places to stop, viewpoints, and rest areas helpful in creating relaxing and enjoyable breaks along the way. Just as important are honest suggestions for improvement. We take these very seriously, as they help us continue to grow and refine what we offer.

In this post, we would like to share some of these lovely words with you and extend our heartfelt thanks to the kind guests who took the time to write a few lines and contribute to the ongoing development of our tours.

Across the Alps: From Oberstdorf to Merano

Eurohike guest Geert set out on a spectacular Alpine crossing along the European long-distance trail E5, from Oberstdorf in Bavaria to the spa town of Merano. From the very start, hikers are greeted by the breathtaking beauty of the Allgäu Alps, and on the first day, the trail crosses into Austria at the Mädelejoch pass. The vast mountain landscapes of Tyrol accompany hikers through the dramatic Pitztal and Ötztal valleys.

Crossing the Timmelsjoch pass, the route continues into Italy’s Passeier Valley, where South Tyrolean specialties provide a well-deserved reward after a day of hiking. The spa town of Merano radiates a unique charm — Mediterranean and yet distinctly Alpine. So, what did Geert enjoy most about this incredible journey?

“We thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour. The hikes took us through an incredibly diverse landscape. The app guided us reliably to each destination, and the ability to check our location at any time was truly fantastic. The hotels were very well chosen, making it easy to relax and recharge after each day’s hike. In every accommodation, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful.”

Hiking dreams in the Salzkammergut

It’s wonderful that Eurohike guest Brigitte was able to enjoy her journey through the Salzkammergut so much, together with her hiking companion. The varied route begins at Lake Traunsee and leads to Bad Ischl — the very place where Emperor Franz Joseph loved to spend his summers. From there, the journey continues to the famous Wolfgangsee, framed by a stunning mountain backdrop and offering views of the iconic Schafberg.

In the unique alpine landscape of the Postalm, charming mountain huts await, providing an unforgettable overnight stay amidst the peaks. The highlight of the tour is the trail to Lake Gosau: at the foot of the Dachstein, you can look back on a week of hiking that was as varied as it was memorable.

“This year was our third time traveling with Eurohike, and once again, we were absolutely delighted. The booking process, the friendly phone call, the information, travel documents, route book, app, the hotels and accommodations, the hiking trails — everything ran perfectly, except for the weather during the first half of the week. But of course, that’s something no one can guarantee. Thanks to breaks in the rain, we were still able to complete the entire program. It was a perfect hike through breathtaking landscapes and charming towns. The optional activities were a wonderful bonus, adding even more highlights to our days. The hotels and accommodations were lovely, and we particularly enjoyed the evening sauna. The staff everywhere were friendly and accommodating. Thank you, Eurohike, for such a wonderful vacation. We’ll definitely be back again next year!”

Experience the Algarve at its most beautiful

The sun-soaked Algarve captivates with its dramatic cliffs, impressive limestone and sandstone formations, and sweeping views of the Atlantic — a combination that won over our guest Werner and his companion. From west to east, spectacular coastal trails lead from one natural wonder to the next, taking you through charming towns with a distinctly Portuguese flair, including Lagos, Tavira, and Faro, the capital of the Algarve. In the Ria Formosa Nature Park, countless bird species find a true paradise.

Portugal also has an incredible amount to offer when it comes to food. Thanks to its Atlantic location, traditional fish dishes are a highlight, along with the delicate Sopa Alentejana. For a sweet treat, we recommend the famous Pastéis de Nata. And for those who want accommodations with an extra touch of comfort and indulgence, we suggest following the example of Eurohike guest Werner and opting for the Charm option.

“This was our first time on a hiking vacation like this: Coastal Hiking in the Algarve, Portugal, with the Charm option. Thanks to Eurohike, it turned into a real adventure for us. The routes were carefully planned, the hotels were excellent without exception — we especially loved the Marina Rio in Lagos — and the support was outstanding. On one occasion, we couldn’t make it to the meeting point on time, but thanks to Franziska from Eurohike, it was no problem: the driver was quickly rerouted, and just 15 minutes later we were on board. The drivers who took us to the starting points and, when arranged, picked us up from the endpoints were always punctual, friendly, and accommodating. It looks like we’ll be hiking with Eurohike again in 2026!”

Hiking enjoyment in the Wachau

The beautiful blue Danube accompanies you between Krems and Melk — sometimes meandering along the river, sometimes winding through vineyards, and occasionally climbing to scenic heights with breathtaking views over the Danube Valley. Along the way, you’ll visit the Dürnstein ruins and the impressive Melk Abbey, complete with its stunning gardens.

No tour through the Wachau would be complete without enjoying the region’s culinary delights! The area is famous for sweet treats made from authentic Wachau apricots and fine-quality wines bearing the DAC seal. Numerous stops at local wineries and “Buschenschanken” (wine taverns) are a must for anyone looking to combine hiking with indulgence.

We’d like to thank Eurohike guest Paul for sharing this wonderful feedback with us::

“Overall, a fantastic hike through the Wachau. Beautiful landscapes, wonderful wines, and a journey we will always remember. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour. The daily stages were well planned with manageable elevation changes. The accommodations were excellent, and the towns themselves were truly impressive. Many thanks to Eurohike for this wonderful experience.”

Around the Zugspitze

Gentle hikes, the warm hospitality of Bavaria, and ever-changing views of Germany’s highest mountain — all this and more awaits on the tour around the Zugspitze. From Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the route winds through the impressive Partnach Gorge and, accompanied by the majestic Wetterstein Mountains, continues into the Leutasch Valley. On the Ehrwalder Alm, you’re greeted by scenery as idyllic as a classic Bavarian film.

No hike would be complete without a traditional Bavarian lunch: a freshly baked pretzel, flavorful Obazda cheese, and a perfectly poured beer make the ideal reward after a full day on the trails.

Eurohike guest Carina shared this wonderful feedback:

“This was our first time traveling with Eurohike, and we are thrilled! From the pre-travel information (including helpful parking tips) to the excellent app (which ensured we never lost our way) and the perfect accommodations with warm and welcoming hosts, we can wholeheartedly recommend Eurohike. The route around the Zugspitze is a dream, and we truly enjoyed the tour. We also appreciated that the route book offered alternatives for each stage, whether for extending the day or in case of bad weather. The luggage transfer worked flawlessly every time. We’re already looking forward to our next travel with Eurohike!”
