Welcome briefing

At your first hotel, you’ll be greeted by an on-site tour representative from our local Eurohike team for a personal welcome briefing. This is where you’ll receive your travel documents and vouchers for any additional services you’ve booked. You’ll also get all the essential details about your route, accommodations, and any current highlights along the way. Plus, we’ll walk you through the features of the Eurohike on Tour app. Our tour representatives are always happy to help with questions–and love to share a hidden gem or two along the way.

Travel documents provided

For selected original tours and partner tours, the welcome briefing may not take place. In this case, your travel documents will be waiting for you at the hotel reception upon arrival. Ahead of your journey, you’ll receive a detailed information video by email–a digital version of the welcome briefing with everything you need to know about your tour. If any questions come up beforehand, our travel specialists are always happy to help.

Questions & Answers about what’s included in our tours

Sorry! No FAQs were found. Please try again with a new search term.

Ensuring you stay in a pleasant and comfortable environment after a day of hiking is our top priority. We carefully select hotels, guesthouses, and inns that meet high standards of quality. On some tours, we also offer options across different hotel categories.

Occasionally, more basic accommodations may be necessary. Rooms with a shower or bath and a toilet are generally standard (please refer to the “Services & Information” section for any exceptions).

Single rooms can be challenging to secure, particularly in our destinations and even more so in southern regions. Please keep in mind that the single-room supplement covers not only the additional hotel costs but also the extra administrative work involved, including correspondence, invoicing, and travel documents. Despite the extra charge, single rooms are sometimes more modestly furnished and located in less favorable areas of the hotel compared to double rooms.

We transport your luggage from hotel to hotel. On Eurohike Original Tours, there’s no limit to the number of bags you can bring. When changing accommodation, please leave your luggage at reception by 9:00 AM at the latest. It will be delivered to your next accommodation by 6:00 PM at the latest.

However, on some partner tours, only one or two pieces of luggage per person will be transferred. Please note that bags weighing more than 20 kg (44 lbs) cannot be transported.

Keep in mind that frequent handling may cause wear and tear. We are not liable for the following:

  • Items not typically considered part of standard travel luggage
  • Cash or other means of payment
  • Cosmetic damage, or damage to handles and wheels (see Section VI/9 of our travel terms and conditions)
  • Damage to luggage that exceeds the 20 kg (44 lbs) weight limit

In some cases—such as when staying in remote mountain huts—luggage transport may not be possible. In these instances, you’ll need to carry your daypack yourself. If this applies to your tour, it will be clearly indicated in the tour description.

The online maps, along with the stage descriptions on the tour page, provide you with a detailed overview of each route. While there may be occasional changes to the exact route or stage locations, these are generally minor and do not significantly affect the overall itinerary.

We strive to offer the trusted Eurohike service at all our destinations. However, some adjustments may be necessary. For instance, breakfasts in southern locations are often simpler. Additionally, punctuality and scheduling may vary and should be understood in that context.

Traveling in foreign countries may sometimes involve variations from the standard Eurohike services, and some of our trusted partner operators may provide slightly different service packages. For more details, please consult the “Services and Information” section of the specific travel package.

On many original Eurohike tours, you’ll be personally welcomed at your arrival location. You will find details of whether and when the information meeting will take place in your route book. Two weeks before arrival, we will also send you an email with our information video. If you have questions during your hiking tour, feel free to contact our local support team. You’ll find the contact details of our station managers in the travel documents provided at the reception of your arrival hotel.

The return transfer to the starting point is subject to a fee and should be booked in advance when reserving your tour. You will find detailed tour-specific information in your travel documents.

If you’re delayed on arrival due to traffic, schedule changes, or any other reason, don’t worry — you’ll may simply miss the welcome briefing. our travel documents, including the service hotline number, can be collected at the hotel reception. Simply ask the front desk staff.

Please inform us if possible in the event of a delay.

Since we work on a request basis without fixed room blocks at our partner hotels, you don’t get to pick specific hotels upfront. However, to help you get a clear idea of your accommodations, we list example hotels on the tour details page.

On some tours, you can also choose your preferred room category. Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll handle the hotel arrangements for you. Occasionally, a hotel might no longer be available for your dates, but all our accommodations are carefully selected to meet consistent quality standards.

We offer a welcome briefing with our destination representative at the start of your tour exclusively for our Original Tours. This service is not available for partner tours. You can identify our Original Tours by the “Eurobike Original” label. You can also find a corresponding filter option under “Travel format” in the tour search.

Our guests come from all over the world. Travel by air is arranged independently and cannot be booked through Eurohike Walking Holidays. Flights to your destination are therefore not included in the tour price.
