Itinerary at a glance
There’s plenty to discover on a stroll through the town center. Let yourself be swept along through the charming alleys and enjoy the Italian way of life. Of course, a refreshing swim in the lake is a must— as is a crispy pizza and a delicious gelato.

On an exciting boat ride across the lake, you’ll discover the stunning Sirmione Peninsula. From there, the route continues along beautiful lakeside paths through Lazise and Bardolino, famous vacation spots where a stop at the ice cream shop is well worth it. Numerous swimming spots in turquoise-green natural coves await you. Sturdy hikers can climb up to the Rocca, the ancient fortress, from where you’ll enjoy fabulous panoramic views of the lake.

Hike along the beach to the San Vigilio headland, then climb steeply up to Monte Lupa. Time and again, rocky lookouts offer surprising views down into the lake. Narrow trails through scrubland and forest lead to the medieval village of Crero. Soon you’ll reach the highlight: the 30-meter-high Tibetan suspension bridge. Adventurous hikers cross the swaying structure and gaze down into the gorge. From the pink tower in Pai, take the bus to your destination.

Take the cable car up to Monte Baldo today. During the ride, you’ll soon see the entire Lake Garda from the rotating panoramic gondola. At the top, you can choose between the adventurous Ventrar Trail along steep rock faces or the ridge trail leading to the summit. Of course, there’s also a mountain hut for a well-deserved break. Back in the valley, it’s worth visiting Scaliger Castle in the beautiful center of Malcesine.

Thrilling views down into the depths are guaranteed. Afterward, you’ll hike up to the Nago Fortress and descend to Torbole via the Giants’ Rock Holes.

On the old road from Santa Luzia, you’ll climb through olive groves up to Nago. From there, the trail leads steeply uphill past rocky climbing walls to the chestnut grove on Monte Corno. You’ll find walkable tunnels and old adits, as well as beautiful lookout points. Back at the shore, take a leisurely stroll along the promenade to the harbor in Riva, where, of course a dip in the cool water beckons. Admire the many kite surfers and sailors.
