Finally, we embark on the most beautiful hike in the Veneto
We start early in the morning in the direction of Innsbruck and continue to Bolzano for a short stopover. We are warmly welcomed in Bolzano by our station manager Riccardo and Eugen. Combined with a nice cappuccino we receive the information for our shortened hiking trip from Riva to Levico Terme in the South Tyrol hiking station.
Enjoying bright sunshine in Riva
Once we have arrived in Hotel Mirage, we enjoy a few more sunny hours on the shores of Lake Garda and in the old town of Riva with good live music on the piazza. At the same time, I also visit my partner hotels, with whom I work a lot and enjoy working together.

Breathtaking hiking trails featuring unspoilt nature and small towns
A special highlight for me is the first stage, on which you hike through vines into the huge rock fall area called “Marroche rock desert”. Flower symbols serve as signposts for this particularly beautiful stage. I can only recommend a detour to the dinosaur tracks. Arriving in Pietramurata, Daniela, the owner of the Pietra Rara accommodation, welcomes us. She tells us many interesting stories over a good bottle of “Gewürztraminer”.
Hiking with the possibility of cooling down
By the way, if you long for a cool-off after a hot day of hiking, this tour is perfect for you. Almost every day, there is the opportunity to jump into a lake, such as the beautiful Lake Terlago. The view of the Adige valley and Trento, the capital of Trentino, is also admirable. The descent to Trento is sometimes very demanding, but also very worthwhile. In the evening, we relax our legs with a walk through the city. We can only confirm the information in the travel documents that Trento’s cathedral square is one of the most beautiful squares in Italy.
Through the rain to Levico Terme
Our third and final hiking stage from Trento to Levico Terme proves that even rainy weather does not spoil our joy of hiking. Luckily, we had enough suitable clothing for such conditions in our luggage.
- My tip: do not forget rainwear or a poncho!
Despite the heavy rain, we are already looking forward to this hike along the tracks of the Romans through the Valsugana. We also make a detour to the fort of Pergine (“Persen Castle“), a very well preserved castle! We continue in the direction of Lake Caldonazzo – stunningly beautiful, but unfortunately continuous rain. The further we hike uphill, the more we get into dense fog. With the help of GPS data, we continue and reach our Hotel Liberty at the Day Finish Levico Terme. We made it!
Culinary highlights in Bella Italia!
Our hiking tour also has a lot to offer regarding cuisine. We especially recommend the various seafood- and fish dishes and the excellent regional wines!
- Insider tip: Dinner at Hotel Liberty in the in-house vegetarian and vegan restaurant.
Dishes are prepared with a lot of love and every course is an absolute highlight! „Il benessere del domani“ (The wellbeing of tomorrow) is the motto of Hotel Liberty, which definitely applies to me 😊
Our conclusion: The hiking holiday to Venice is worth it!
It was a wonderful hiking holiday, and we are taking many beautiful impressions home with us! As always, my friends are enthusiastic about the professionalism and organization and are already looking forward to continuing our hiking trip to Venice together!
Yours, Isabella😊
