Questions & answers

Services of your hiking trip

Here you can find the answers to the most important questions about the included services on your individual hiking trip. If your questions remain unanswered, contact us. We are happy to help.

Do we organise travel to and from the trip?

On our hiking tours travel to and from the tour is not included. This allows you to customise your trip. The easiest way is to book cheap flights via the internet or through a travel agency. We are happy to recommend a travel agency. Our colleagues know our hiking destinations very well and have already advised many Eurohike guests.

Many of our destinations can also be reached comfortably by train or car. If necessary, we are also very happy to help you plan your arrival and departure and give you detailed advice on the best round trip.

On the tour pages you will also find tips on how to get there, on-site parking and check-out under the ‘information’ section.

Please note that airport transfers are included on some of our trips. For other hiking tours, transfers to/from the airport or train station can be booked as an option. You will find more information on the tour pages under the points ‘included’ and ‘optional’.

What documents will I receive for my hiking tour?

You will receive one set of documents per room. In the package, which we send to you by mail, you will find all the important information about your hiking trip as well as an accommodation list. Of course you will also find comprehensive route material such as maps, route descriptions etc…so you can prepare for the hiking tour.

On our original tours, you will also receive a route book with picture navigation. With the detailed directions you will certainly find the right paths and reach your next destination. On some journeys, the route material (maps, route description) is only provided on site at the tour information or in the starting hotel.

Which accommodation will I stay in?

For us it is our duty to make sure your accommodation after a day’s hiking is pleasant. Therefore, we endeavour to reserve only hotels, inns and guesthouses with appropriate quality. For some tours we offer several hotel categories. Single rooms are often difficult to get – particularly in southern regions. Please note in the evaluation of the single supplement, that this includes not only the additional hotel price, but also correspondence, invoicing and a set of travel documents!

Every now and then, especially on trekking tours, the accommodation in mountain huts includes a shared room with shower/WC in the corridor, sometimes without shower. Again, we always strive to book cosy and comfortable cabins for you. Single rooms are not usually possible here, details can be found in the respective travel programmes.

How does the luggage transfer work?

We transport your luggage from hotel to hotel. There is no limit to the number of pieces of luggage on our original tours. Some partner tours carry only one or two pieces of luggage per person. Luggage weighing more than 20kg will not be carried!

Please note that multiple loading points places extra strain on luggage. Information on any damage to luggage can be found in the travel conditions. Sometimes it is necessary to carry day luggage yourself, as access to shelters or mountain huts in remote regions is not possible.

Most of our hiking trips require luggage to be delivered to the hotel reception by 9am. You will find detailed information about the luggage transfer of your hiking trip in the travel documents.

Luggage is marked with enclosed luggage tags. When labelling, it is important the name of the main booker is written on all items in the booking. You will also find detailed information about labelling in your travel documents.
