Do you have questions about this tour?

Bavaria just like on a picture postcard: majestic mountain tops, deep blue sparkling lakes, idyllic alpine pastures with grazing cattle – and lots more! Discover Bavaria’s most beautiful clichés during a week-long walking tour between Bad Tölz and Bayrischzell. Walk casually on marvelous panorama-paths through picturesque mountain scenery, have breaks along the way in pretty little mountain chalets and enjoy a typical snack (‚Brotzeit’) and a cool big glass of beer. The lakes Tegernsee and Schliersee invite you to a swim, a dip into the refreshing waters of mountain lakes is always welcome on a hot summer’s day. Mountains, lakes and a Bavarian ‚Brotzeit’-snack – is there anything better than that?

Water as smooth as silk with colourful sailboats bobbing on top, framed against the rugged mountain landscape. This is the gorgeous Tegernsee in beautiful Bavaria. It’s the perfect starting point for the seven-day hike to the Wendelstein. The route takes in varied mountain trails to rustic huts where you can sample delicious delicacies. Every day you and the kids can also cool down in the surrounding lakes.

  • Around the Wendelstein: On the penultimate day comes a hike up the well-known German mountain -the Wendelstein. The circular trail to the summit features a chapel and weather observatory. The goal is the Wendelstein cave with its underground passages. An experience for young and old!
  • Rustic mountain huts and hearty meals: What’s the highlight of every hike? The huts and restaurants, of course! They are to Bavaria as sand is to the sea. Delicious fragrant cakes, bread with obazda and delicious ‘Scheiterhaufen’ with lots of cinnamon and raisins. The children’s eyes will be gleaming!

Tour Bavaria for seven days as you go from lake Tegernsee to Riederstein, Bad Wiessee, Schliersee and Spitzingsee. On day five, you and your family will arrive by bus to Schliersee and finally to the end destination Bayrischzell. The average walking time is three to four and a half hours and requires good basic fitness for adults and kids. If you find it too strenuous, many stages can be shortened by public transport.

Have you always wanted to see Bavaria? Then you now have the opportunity to see it on holiday! Book yourself a warm and comfortable stay in Bavaria.

Sustainably on the go

Our contribution to climate protection

  • Active vacations are among the most environmentally friendly and healthiest ways to travel. Traveling on foot means moving in a climate-conscious way while conserving resources.

  • Our carefully selected accommodations, like us, are committed to lived sustainability. They are deeply rooted in their regions, work with local suppliers, provide attractive employment opportunities for local residents, and thereby strengthen local value creation.

  • With the Eurohike On Tour app, we offer a digital version of our travel documents, allowing you to navigate confidently while on the road. By moving to digital formats, we help conserve valuable natural resources.

  • Eurohike has been certified as a sustainable tour operator with the internationally recognized Travelife certification. To achieve this, more than 261 requirements were carefully met.

  • Even though hiking vacations (and cycling vacations with Eurobike) are among the most climate-friendly forms of travel, they still generate CO₂ emissions. These are carefully measured using the “Carmacal” calculator. Through our commitment to selected climate protection projects, we aim to give something back to the environment.
