Enjoy panoramic views from Pyramidenkogel tower, explore the Lieser gorge, and experience alpine pastures in the Nock Mountains. Do you have questions about this tour?

Carinthia represents a relaxed way of life paired with an exquisite sense for enjoyment. Just as delightful you will hike through this one of a kind region located in the South of Austria. From Villach, the gateway to the Carinthian lake paradise, you will discover the villas on Lake Wörthersee and the magnificent palace whilst walking along the Velden lakeside. Always accompanied by the mountain panorama and the Villach Alps you climb up the Pyramidenkogel, followed by one lake-highlight after another: fantastic lakeside trails along Lake Millstatt, serpentine tracks on Lake Brennsee and comfortable trails on Lake Ossiach. But not only the sparkling lakes but also the high mountain peaks await to be discovered by you: the view from the so-called "Sternenbalkon" (star balcony) situated high above Lake Millstatt and the "Juwelenweg"-path through the Nock Mountains are only a few of the marvellous walking-highlights.

Through the old town of Villach, once over the Draubrücke to the waterfront – you are already at the starting point for a leisure trip from Eurohike. Thanks to the geographical proximity to Italy, the Mediterranean influence can already be felt in Villach and Velden.

Together with the magnificent casino, the turquoise-blue Wörthersee completes the overall picture of Velden. Numerous hiking trails wind around the famous Carinthian city. On day three you can climb varied forest paths to the Teixelkreuz. From the Pyramidenkogel you have a fabulous view of the Carnic Alps and Slovenia.

It becomes spectacular when it says: from now on you go downhill! Adventurous hikers can slide down the observation tower at Pyramidenkogel via Europe’s highest closed slide then visit the famous Maria Wörth peninsula by boat.

On top of the adventurous experiences, enjoyment is clearly the focus of this hiking trip. This is how the jewel trail takes you to Radenthein in the Nockberge on day six. A cheese tasting awaits you in the Kaslab’n Nockberge dairy. Heavenly, delicious and definitely worth seeing!

  • Porcia Renaissance Castle: In the 16th century, the castle was built in the style of an Italian palazzo in Spittal. Today it is one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings north of the Alps.
  • Star balcony in the hiking village of Döbriach: The circular hike in Döbriach not only offers you countless hiking trails and activities to choose from. One step on the balcony and you will be overwhelmed by the sights that greet you.

A pleasure trip for true gourmets and nature lovers is waiting for you in the southernmost state of Austria. Eight days of walking for about four hours each, with minimal height differences – sounds good, doesn’t it?

Sustainably on the go

Our contribution to climate protection

  • Active vacations are among the most environmentally friendly and healthiest ways to travel. Traveling on foot means moving in a climate-conscious way while conserving resources.

  • Our carefully selected accommodations, like us, are committed to lived sustainability. They are deeply rooted in their regions, work with local suppliers, provide attractive employment opportunities for local residents, and thereby strengthen local value creation.

  • With the Eurohike On Tour app, we offer a digital version of our travel documents, allowing you to navigate confidently while on the road. By moving to digital formats, we help conserve valuable natural resources.

  • Eurohike has been certified as a sustainable tour operator with the internationally recognized Travelife certification. To achieve this, more than 261 requirements were carefully met.

  • Even though hiking vacations (and cycling vacations with Eurobike) are among the most climate-friendly forms of travel, they still generate CO₂ emissions. These are carefully measured using the “Carmacal” calculator. Through our commitment to selected climate protection projects, we aim to give something back to the environment.
