Hikers with a view of the coast in Brittany

Home to countless seabirds and wildflowers that transform fields into a colourful sea – that is the north of Brittany. Also known as the Côtes d’Armor, the coastline stretches for around 350 kilometres. The cliffs are rugged and spectacular to look at – a true hiking mecca and home to this nine-day Eurohike trip. Above all, the relationship between land and sea is evident in Brittany. In the rhythm of the tides, the rushing sea flows inland every day and rushes out again. Be a witness to the different coastal formations when hiking in France from east to west.

Itinerary at a glance

Where can you discover eucalyptus trees and orchids? While hiking in Brittany! In addition, explore France's oldest bird sanctuary, the pink granite coast, and the harbor of Perros-Guirec – and savor some Breton wine.

Arrival in Lannion

You walk from Lannion to Trébeurden, first along the towpath by the river and then along the coastal path along the rugged cliffs. Once you arrive in Trébeurden, the picturesque town centre awaits you on the cliffs, known for its menhirs and dolmens.

You stroll along the coast around Île Grande, past its idyllic marshes, charming little harbours and inviting beaches. The route continues to the impressive space telecommunication station, now known as the ‘Cité des Télécoms’ museum, and on to Saint-Samson and the quiet overnight resort of Kérénoc.

Hike along the rugged coast near Landrellec and Trégastel, where nature has created a true masterpiece. A unique atmosphere awaits you near the Renote peninsula, one of the most enchanting places in France. Continue to Ploumanac'h, where you will discover the surreally shaped pink granite rocks that make this region so famous.

Along the Sentier des Douaniers coastal path, you will get from Ploumanac'h to Perros-Guirec, a well-known holiday resort in northern Brittany with a picture-book harbour. You then continue your hike in the direction of Louanec and Trestel. Your stage ends in the charming coastal village of Port Blanc, which will delight you with its authentic maritime flair.

Today's hiking route takes you from Port Blanc to the Pointe du Château, an impressive 25-metre-high pink granite massif that juts majestically into the sea. In the late afternoon, transfer by taxi to Tréguier, a beautiful medieval town that will delight you with its historic charm.

Start the hike at the Pointe du Château with its impressive pink granite massif. You follow the banks of the Jaudy River until you reach the medieval town centre of Tréguier. The impressive cathedral, which forms the heart of the town, awaits you there.
