Gorgeous coastal views while hiking in the Channel Islands

Just off the French coast, three small islands rise out of the sea. A pleasant climate, beautiful bays and romantic fishing villages make the Channel Islands a small hiker's paradise. Your hiking tours will first take you across the largest island of Jersey, where fine sand, a diverse flora and steep cliffs await you. Further on you will go to Guernsey with its wonderful views of the glittering sea and deserted bays. On the smallest island of Sark, time seems to stand still. A wonderfully diverse week of hiking off the coast of France awaits you.

The starting point of your hiking tour is St. Hélier, the capital and also largest city on the island of Jersey. On the day of your arrival, you can explore the capital of the largest Channel Island in a relaxed manner according to your wishes. The following day you embark on a circular hike to Saint Brelade Bay, Noirmont and Saint Aubin. Another fantastic circular hike awaits you on the next active travel day. This time starting from St. John along the impressive coast of L’Etacq. Now the next island is already waiting: after a ferry ride you reach Guernsey, the second largest Channel Island. After a short boat trip to Sark, you explore the smallest Channel Island on the fifth day of your hiking tour. Untouched nature and wonderful tranquillity await you here. No wonder because the island is completely car-free. Back on Guernsey, complete you hiking tour with a circular hike in the South of the island.

  • Picture-perfect island hikes: On this hiking holiday you experience three picturesque French islands. The Channel Islands provide a varied hiking experience featuring idyllic bays, quiet sandy beaches, impressive cliffs and unspoilt nature.
  • Sightseeing in Saint Peter Port: Saint Peter Port is the main port city in Guernsey. Around a third of all residents live in the island’s capital. The city offers a lot of sights such as the Castle Cornet, the Guernsey Museum with the Candie Gardens, the “La Vallette Bathing Pools”, sea swimming pools, or the picturesque bay “Fermain Beach” featuring a charming café on the beach.
  • Special status islands: Did you know that the Channel Islands have their own status? They are neither part of the European Union nor of Great Britain, but directly subordinate to the British Crown and thus in “British Crown Dependence”.

Our hiking holiday on the island of Jersey, Guernsey and Sark is assigned our level of hiking ‚Moderate Walking’. The stages are planned to last around 2.5 to 5.5 hours and lead you on nice hiking paths. With a basic fitness level this hiking tour becomes a wonderful experience on the beautiful Channel Islands off the coast of France.
