From alpine to Mediterranean: the Alpe-Adria Trail captivates with white glaciers, turquoise-green lakes, the rocky Hohe Tauern, the gentle Nockberge mountains and idyllic mountain villages, as well as towns well worth visiting. The trail begins in Heiligenblut am Großglockner, Austria’s highest mountain at almost 4,000 metres. From the National Park Centre, you’ll hike beneath the eternal ice of the Pasterze Glacier along scenic high-altitude trails and through gorges into the Möll Valley. At the Millstätter Alpe, at 2,000 metres, through the Granattor and enter the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve before reaching the deep-blue Lake Millstatt. From lake to lake, the route leads through moors and forests to the elegant holiday resort of Velden on the green-blue Lake Wörthersee. On the final, crowning stage, you will finally cross the Karawanken and reach Kranjska Gora at the foot of the Julian Alps.

Sustainably on the go

Our contribution to climate protection

  • Active vacations are among the most environmentally friendly and healthiest ways to travel. Traveling on foot means moving in a climate-conscious way while conserving resources.

  • Our carefully selected accommodations, like us, are committed to lived sustainability. They are deeply rooted in their regions, work with local suppliers, provide attractive employment opportunities for local residents, and thereby strengthen local value creation.

  • With the Eurohike On Tour app, we offer a digital version of our travel documents, allowing you to navigate confidently while on the road. By moving to digital formats, we help conserve valuable natural resources.

  • Eurohike has been certified as a sustainable tour operator with the internationally recognized Travelife certification. To achieve this, more than 261 requirements were carefully met.

  • Even though hiking vacations (and cycling vacations with Eurobike) are among the most climate-friendly forms of travel, they still generate CO₂ emissions. These are carefully measured using the “Carmacal” calculator. Through our commitment to selected climate protection projects, we aim to give something back to the environment.
