Lake Garda and Lake Ledro offer an unparalleled hiking destination that blends alpine mountain scenery with Mediterranean charm. Stunning high-altitude trails with sweeping views down to the lake, secluded paths through forests and scrubland, green alpine pastures, cozy mountain huts, and the striking Monte Baldo massif will accompany you on this journey. The high-altitude Lake Ledro lies peacefully in a side valley and invites you to explore the surrounding mountains. You’ll visit all three regions of Lake Garda: starting in Trentino, you’ll reach Lombardy near Limone and take a boat across the lake to Veneto. Spectacular trails alternate with picturesque villages, lively squares, and small ice cream parlors. The itinerary also includes a boat ride, a cable car ride, and numerous opportunities to cool off in the water. A journey rich in contrasts, from palm trees to chestnut groves, sparkling lakes to rugged mountain peaks.

Itinerary at a glance

A vast alpine region stretches between the idyllic Lake Ledro and the charming lemon-growing town of Limone. Monte Corno, above Torbole, offers a special experience. Along the way, rustic mountain huts such as the Rifugio Alpini, the Baita Segalla, and La Capannina invite you to stop for a break.

A stroll along the waterfront promenade is the best way to experience the unique atmosphere of the Old Town.

Afterward, you’ll head to Lake Ledro in the peaceful high valley. Historic pile dwellings tell of times long gone, while small ice cream parlors and swimming spots along the shore invite you to linger. Take a leisurely stroll along the lakeside path to today’s destination.

The mountains are calling! A challenging summit hike to Monte Cocco awaits. The ascent is rewarded with a sweeping panoramic view of Lake Ledro and the famous Mount Tremalzo. Today’s itinerary features a varied hike from Lake Ledro back to Lake Garda. You’ll hike through dense forests up to Passo Nota, where the Rifugio Alpini invites you to take a break. Via the Bocca Fortini Pass and pleasant forest and gravel trails, the route continues to Baita Segalla. At Passo Guil, the long descent through the quiet Singol Valley finally begins. Today’s destination is the picturesque lemon-growing town of Limone on Lake Garda, where a refreshing lemon ice cream awaits you.

On a section of the European long-distance hiking trail E7, you’ll experience the alpine side of the Monte Baldo massif with its rugged rock formations. After a break at a mountain hut, you’ll return to the valley. In the lively center of Malcesine, Scaliger Castle is worth a visit.

From the lakeshore, the trail first climbs up into the alpine pasture landscape above Lake Garda. Through shady forests, you’ll ascend to Malga Zures, where the small wishing chapel and the summit cross invite you to take a detour. You then follow the Sentiero della Pace past imposing rock formations. Across the fields of Nago and through vineyards and olive groves, you descend to Torbole, a popular meeting place for sailors and kitesurfers.

The route leads up to Nago via the historic road of Santa Luzia. Passing rocky climbing walls, the trail winds through a chestnut grove and continues to a rocky plateau with a summit cross. At Monte Corno, you’ll find accessible tunnels, old adits, and ruins. Time and again, beautiful views open up of Lake Garda, lying far below. Sustainably on the go

Our contribution to climate protection

  • Active vacations are among the most environmentally friendly and healthiest ways to travel. Traveling on foot means moving in a climate-conscious way while conserving resources.

  • Our carefully selected accommodations, like us, are committed to lived sustainability. They are deeply rooted in their regions, work with local suppliers, provide attractive employment opportunities for local residents, and thereby strengthen local value creation.

  • With the Eurohike On Tour app, we offer a digital version of our travel documents, allowing you to navigate confidently while on the road. By moving to digital formats, we help conserve valuable natural resources.

  • Eurohike has been certified as a sustainable tour operator with the internationally recognized Travelife certification. To achieve this, more than 261 requirements were carefully met.

  • Even though hiking vacations (and cycling vacations with Eurobike) are among the most climate-friendly forms of travel, they still generate CO₂ emissions. These are carefully measured using the “Carmacal” calculator. Through our commitment to selected climate protection projects, we aim to give something back to the environment.
