The essentials at a glance

Guided walking tour through the Kvarner Bay aboard MS Sagena, exploring Croatian islands including Krk, Rab, Ilovik, Lošinj, and Cres. Daily hikes range from 6-17 km through Mediterranean landscapes, coastal paths, and to scenic viewpoints with gentle to moderate ascents up to 500m. Highlights include guided tours of Rab and Mali Lošinj, thousand-year-old olive trees in Pag, and swimming stops in the Adriatic. Suitable for leisure hikers with good basic fitness.

Itinerary at a glance

Embarkation in Rijeka between 8:20 am and 12:00 pm, followed by a welcome from your tour guide with a welcome drink. We then set sail for the island of Krk, where your first hike takes you from Njivice along the Paradise Trail to Haludovo. After a refreshing swim in the Adriatic, we continue to the picturesque harbour town of Krk, where we stay overnight.

Early in the morning, we travel by boat to Stara Baška on the island of Krk. From here, we hike through the Mediterranean landscape to the summit of Veli Hlam and continue to Baška. Afterwards, the boat takes us to the island of Rab, with time for a refreshing swim along the way. Upon arrival in Rab, we explore the picturesque old town and its distinctive bell towers on a guided tour. Afterwards, there is time to enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants.

After breakfast, we hike across the island of Rab to the summit of Kamenjak, where magnificent views over the island and the Velebit Mountains await us. Back on board, we continue to Lun on the island of Pag, where we take a short walk to see the thousand-year-old olive trees. Afterwards, we sail to Ilovik, known as the “Island of Flowers”, where we stay overnight.

Today, the boat takes us to the island of Lošinj, where we hike from Mali Lošinj via Veli Lošinj to the summit of Sv. Ivan. From here, we enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding islands before returning to Mali Lošinj. During a guided tour, we explore the town before ending the day with dinner at a restaurant of your choice.

Während des Frühstücks fahren wir nach Osor, wo unsere Rundwanderung nach Sv. Gaudencije startet. Zurück an Bord genießen wir das Mittagessen und fahren weiter nach Valun auf der Insel Cres, mit einem Badestopp unterwegs. Am Abend lassen wir den Tag beim Captains Dinner an Bord ausklingen.

Today’s hike takes us from Valun through the varied landscapes of the island of Cres to the island’s capital of the same name. Along the way, we pass vineyards, olive groves, sheep pastures and fragrant pine forests. Upon arrival in Cres, there is plenty of time to explore the picturesque town and its narrow streets at your own pace. Afterwards, you can spend a relaxing afternoon strolling along the waterfront promenade or unwinding in one of the cosy cafés.

Today’s hike takes us from Cres to the Sveti Bartolomej viewpoint, where we enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding islands and the sparkling sea. Back on board, lunch awaits us before we set off on the final stage of our journey. We return to Rijeka by boat, arriving in the afternoon.

Disembarkation takes place after breakfast until 09:00. Afterwards you start your individual journey home.

Along coastal paths, across green islands and through Mediterranean vegetation, there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the impressive scenery at your own pace.
