Do you have questions about this tour?

Idyllic mountain lakes, lush alpine meadows, green forests, and the legendary Dolomites will accompany you on your week-long walking tour through three nature parks. A detour to the ‘Three Peaks’ is an absolute must. You’ll start with a visit to Lake Braies, whose crystal-clear waters reflect the chalk-white faces of the Seekofel. The circular walk around the famous Tre Cime offers fascinating views of the Sesto mountain world. The absolute highlight is the view high above Cortina, the ‘Pearl of the Dolomites’, and over some of the most imposing Dolomite peaks. The Cristallo Group, the Tofane and the Fanes Group all vie for the admirer’s attention.

At the start, the lake ‘Pragser Wildsee’ greets you with crystal-clear water, which also reflects the chalk-white walls of Mount Seekofel. On the circular hike through the three nature parks, you can not only marvel at the famous ‘trident’ and the Sesto mountains. The flora and fauna of South Tyrol can also be seen in all their glory in the protected reserves. The absolute highlight is certainly the view high above Cortina, the pearl of the Dolomites.

  • The Three Peaks: The same-named nature park of the Three Peaks is not only one of the most beautiful natural spectacles, but is also highly recommended for a hike in the Puster Valley.
  • Culinary delights: The interplay of different cuisines and traditions results in a wonderful composition of the purest culinary delights.

During your walking holiday you will hike through three of the eight nature parks. Immerse yourself in the silence, in the magic of the valleys and peaks. The diversity of the natural landscapes in the Dolomites can hardly be put into words. Stroll leisurely through the mountains of South Tyrol along marked hiking and mountain trails. You should still have sufficient strength in your legs so that you can fully enjoy the high-altitude trails. For most of the hike, there is a daily choice between a shorter and longer stage.

Itinerary at a glance

The Dolomites offer three natural parks and scenic attractions such as Lake Braies, the Tre Cime, and the Cristallo Group. Austrian and Italian influences shape the delicious South Tyrolean cuisine.

Your walking holiday in the Upper Puster Valley begins amidst rugged rocky peaks and green alpine pastures. Make the most of your arrival day to soak up the unique atmosphere of the Dolomites.

Your first hike starts at the idyllic Lake Braies, which enchants visitors above all with its crystal-clear water. There, you’ll get your first glimpse of the Valle di Braies, with its dark coniferous forests and chalk-white rock faces, which is counted amongst the jewels of the Dolomites. The route leads across the plateau to the Rossalm and on to the Prato Piazza. Amid the vastness of nature and tranquility, the sweeping views allow you to catch sight of Monte Cristallo, the Tofane and the world-famous Three Peaks.

The panoramic views along this stage are simply breathtaking. The towering rock giants of the Ampezzo Dolomites – Monte Cristallo and the Cristallo Group, the Tofane and the Fanes Group – are the stars of this spectacle. There are two routes to choose from: one to Forcella Faloria or along the Dolomieu Panorama Trail. Both routes take you toward Passo Tre Croci and finally back to Cortina. Alternatively, you can enjoy a lovely circular walk around Cortina or a hike to the Cinque Torri. Let yourself be enchanted by the natural beauty of the imposing Dolomite peaks.

You’ll walk through the Prato Piazza and descend through the Valle dei Chenopi to the Gemärk, the border between South Tyrol and the province of Belluno. From there, you have a choice: either take public transportation directly to Cortina d’Ampezzo or hike the longer route to Ospitale and on to the Passo Tre Croci. If you prefer, you can optionally take the cable car down from Refugio Son Forca to Rio Gere to shorten the stage.

At the start of your final stage, you’ll take a bus to the Three Peaks View. From there, you’ll hike across the Rienza Plateau and through the Rienza Valley up to the Tre Cime, the world-famous UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and symbol of the Dolomites. You’ll then continue on to the famous Three Peaks Hut (Rifugio Locatelli), from where the route leads you down below the Paternkofel into the Val Fiscalina, and you’ll take the bus to Dobbiaco. Optionally, you can hike from the Three Peaks View up to the Tre Cime and on to the Rifugio Auronzo. From there, you can also take the bus to your destination for the day. A fitting conclusion to a spectacular week of hiking.
