Arrival in Toblach
Toblach – Padola
In the morning you will leave by transfer. With the cable car you will go to the starting point of the tour on the Helm. With a view of the famous Sesto Sundial, the Dolomite peaks towering high above Sesto, you hike along the Carnic ridge. You will cross the border with Austria, and later your path will lead you back to Italy. Passing the Sillianer hut and the Klammbachalm you will reach the Kreuzbergpass and from there continue to the stage destination in Padola.
Padola – Val Visdende
By public bus to Sega Digon, from there you hike a little below the actual high trail, accompanied by a dreamlike view of the steeply rising flanks of the great Kinigat. Through shady forests and across colorful flower meadows you reach the Val Visdende.
Val Visdende – Sappada
On forest paths you will climb higher and higher to the mountain group Monte Rinaldo. In the beautiful high valley Val Popera you will enjoy the magnificent view of the mighty rock castles and down to the magnificent Laghi d`Olbe. There is the possibility to take the chairlift to Sappada (ticket not included).
Sappada – Forni Avoltri
Directly from Sappada you start your hike to Monte Chiadin. Through sparse forests you hike to the Rifugio Piani del Cristo. Then begin the ascent over the grassy southern slope of Monte Chiadin. Enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. The shorter variant leads over the Sella di Keser directly to Forni Avoltri.
Transfer to the Nassfeld, to the Straniger Alm. The Nassfeld pass leads past numerous glittering lakes and babbling brooks, fields of alpine roses, wet meadows with cotton grass and various orchid species characterize today's landscape. A tasting of the typical cheese specialties in one of the many Almkäserein should not be missed.
Your last hiking stage leads you from the Nassfeld Pass to the Eggeralm, where there are numerous huts of the Gailtal farmers. There your hike ends with a transfer to Villach, the second largest city in Carinthia. Villach exudes a wonderful dose of "Dolce Vita" and guarantees an all-around successful conclusion to your eventful hiking trip. At the end of the stage you take the cable car to Tröpolach and from there on to Villach.

Characteristics of the route
The hiking route runs along well-marked mountain and hiking trails, the somewhat more exposed part of the Carnic High Trail is generously bypassed. The paths are easy to walk, for the walking times up to 7 hours we recommend a good basic condition. Panoramic views of the surrounding mountains of the Dolomites await you.

- Parking: free, unguarded parking near the hotel. No advance reservation possible.
- Return journey from Villach by train in about 1.5 hours to Lienz and from there in about 1 hour to Dobbiaco.
