Farmhouse in the Black Forest

Have you ever seen the largest low mountain lake in Germany? The Titisee in the Black Forest owes its origin to the Feldberg Glacier, whose moraines form its banks today. To get to Lake Constance, walk along the country path through romantic valleys and unspoilt forests. Passing the small village, all hard-working hikers finally head to Singen via the volcanic cone of the Hegauberge.

Finally, you will reach Lake Constance in the border triangle. In addition to Germany and Austria, Switzerland also has a share of the Lake Constance region. Once in Redolfzell, let your mind wander and look back on the last few days of hiking.

The hike leads from the ,Saiger Höhe' above the Titisee to the Hochfirst. From there you can expect a fabulous view of the lake, the Feldberg and the summits of the Austrian and Swiss Alps. Completely overwhelmed by the spectacular views you will reach the next highlight of this Eurohike hiking tour.

The Wutach Gorge and the associated nature park not only offer an exciting primeval landscape with romantic gorges, but also raging waterfalls. On day four, you leave the cross-country trail and instead hike past impressive sights: the blue stone and a group of rocks which consist of basalt columns up to ten metres high, shorten the hike.

  • The Blumberger Gate: The former riverbed between two mountains is definitely worth a visit. Once there, it is a good to take a look at the well-known ‘Sauschwänzlebahn’, a steam locomotive that roams through the landscape in numerous arches.
  • Hohenhewen Castle ruins: Remains of the castle are still preserved at 846 metres above sea level. The viewing platform build there is particularly spectacular. With a clear view, you have a view over Lake Constance and the Alps.
  • Wine pleasure at Lake Constance: Did you know, that a beautiful wine region is located at the Lake Constance? A total of six areas form the wonderful wine region.

Are you in good physical condition and can walk up to six straight hours without any problem? Then the Eurohike hiking trip from the Black Forest to Lake Constance should be manageable. The cross route runs on well-marked hiking and forest trails with short descents that require sure-footedness.
