Effective regeneration after the hiking tour

Do you know this great feeling after a hiking tour? Thoughts buzzing what we have experienced, the body pumped with adrenaline - we just simply feel awesome! On top of that we reflect on the marvellous scenery and treasured impressions. It was just sensational! And then the next morning you can feel them: unpleasant sore muscles. What helps with that? We reveal the best tips not to end up with blisters and sore muscles, this that and the other.

Tip 1: This helps to keep blisters on feet at bay

How important the correct fit of a hiking shoe is, you normally realise too late, namely once you have a big blister on your foot. Often little areas of pressure or a fold in the sock suffice. If a blister develops during a hiking tour it helps to apply a blistering plaster, which acts as a cushion and prevents the blister from getting bigger.

Once a blister has burst open, we recommend you definitely clean it to avoid any inflammation. To reduce pain after the hiking tour gently apply aloe vera, oil containing vitamin E or zinc salve on the affected location.

The best way to avoid blisters all together? Is the appropriate type of shoe! Tip: start wearing your hiking shoes already before the tour, which allows your feet to get used to them.

Tip 2: That way sore muscles get soothed

After an extensive hiking tour it is not surprising, if sore muscles are felt. For minute tears and injuries to the muscles happen by overstressing them. Very good remedies to sooth sore muscles are St. Johns Wort-oil and arnica. Massage these healing natural agents into the affected areas of your body. You will see: muscles will relax faster than they normally would.

What else combats sore muscles? Relaxing baths! Warm water and bath oils as well as bath salts help the body regenerate. Moreover the warmth helps heal injured muscles. That way aching muscles soon abate. Saunas by the way have a similar beneficial effect.

Did you know that gentle exercise such as going for a walk or a leisurely bike ride counteract  sore muscles? The better your muscles are supplied with blood, the quicker the injured muscle fibres heal. It is important not to overburden your body anew, but to only move to the extent that your body allows you despite the sore muscle pain.

Tip 3: Get fit with appropriate nutrition

After a challenging hiking tour treat yourself to something delicious and balanced to eat and drink. How about a large glass of freshly-squeezed fruit- or vegetable juice? Vitamins and minerals provide new energy!

If you have not already taken it during the hiking tour, we recommend you supplement some magnesium. This mineral supports muscle performance. In addition it aids the organism to regenerate better.

Healthy food for active people creates happiness!

  • Whole grain products consist of dietary fibre and are very nourishing.
  • Food rich in protein such as avocados, dried fruit & co condition active people.
  • Oats also contain lots of dietary fibre.
  • Cinnamon, honey and bananas: this combination is nutritious and provides you with lots of energy.
