Travel insurance

We strongly recommend taking out a travel insurance policy, at least cancellation insurance, as no insurances are included in our packages. Forms of the European Travel Insurance are attached to our travel documentation for your action.

What is the deadline for changes?

You can change your booking for Eurohike Original tours until 14 days before travelling – provided that the hotels can meet your requirements – for following services: number of rooms, kind of room, hotel category, catering. We have to charge you with a service fee of € 50 per change (all fees per booking, unrelated to the number of persons!).
For service fee for Eurohike Partner tours please inquire at our office, by phone, fax or e-mail. Extra nights can be booked on short call.

Which kind of accommodation?

It is our obligation to provide you with a comfortable atmosphere after a walking day. We are constantly looking for hotels, country hotels and boarding houses offering this special ambience.
Sometimes especially smaller towns do not offer very sophisticated accommodation. Anyway, rooms with shower or tub bath and toilet are standard, and more often the personal hospitality of the landlords and special service recompense for the simpler standard of the rooms.
Some tours offer two different hotel categories: Category A comprises hotels of high level (in smaller towns also guest houses) of 3 and 4 Star level. Category B offers hotels, country hotels and boarding houses of 3 star levels, sometimes of lesser level. You will find a description of the expected hotel quality in the price table.

Special rates for families with children?

The Eurohike-Original Tours grant free attendance for children up to 4 years. Any cost for cots or special food should be settled at the hotels. Children up to 14 years sleeping in one room with two fully paying adults will get a reduction of 25% on the basic price.
Please note that partner-tours often offer a different scheme of reductions. Please do not hesitate to inquire when booking the tour.

How can I book my tour the easiest way?

Simply book via our website, or use the booking-form attached on the right cover of our catalogue. Our customer service will take your phone calls personally and book the tour for you. Please note that the reservation status is binding as soon as you received our booking confirmation. Please note our Terms of Travel.

Hiking at all kinds of weather?

Unfortunately we are not able to guarantee sunshine, but of course we assume that you are lucky with the weather during your tour – as you do. Anyway, please take some precautions for days with cooler temperatures and the occasional rainy spell. An equipment list is enclosed to the travel documentation. Most of the time there are busses or trains running between the booked village.

When and where can I book extra nights?

Extra nights are available at all starting and finishing points.Some tours even allow for extra nights during the tour. In this case the extra nights have to be booked right together with the tour reservation. All prices are available under “Extra Nights” at the relevant tour description.

Equipment

It can be cold in the mountains, no matter which season. Therefore you always should carry warm pullovers and anoraks with you. We also advise to bring a thermos and a solid luncheon box as you might not always be in reach of a mountain cabin or inn for your meals. You will get an equipent list up front to get an idea what's needed.

Luggage

Your luggage will be transferred daily to the next accommodation. Sometimes you have to carry a daypack as access to mountain cabins or other accommodation not always is possible in remote regions. This information you will find in the offer!

Climate and walking times

Temperature and weather can influence your stamina and walking condition strongly, therefore we refrained from indicating walking times and distances in our catalogue.
